G14-Mendoza will be holding a supplementary tryout at Perry Fields - Saturday Aug. 28th, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Mid-Summer Classic wrapped up Sunday night with 9 of our teams finishing in 1st!  We could not have asked for a nicer weekend of weather & Mark Fisher as always did a great job as the Director of the tournament and deserves a huge thanks from all of us. 

This year was the 3rd year the SCS teams were in charge of putting up the nets, maintaining the fields through out the weekend and tearing them down, you all did a fantastic job, thanks to parents, players and coaching staff for making this go smoothly.

Thank-You to Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Washington Beef, Poochies, & Sunrise Dairy for their generous donations which enabled some of our players to raise money!

Congratulations to Coach Alexanders girls U-11 team, coaching staff, parents and supporters!

The girls started with a convincing Semi-Final win on Saturday over Crossfire 4-1, which moved them on to Sundays Final.  The game was against River City and with some decent weather, smart coaching, lots of supporters and some great hussle the final score was 2-1.

A belated but hearty congrats to the G17-Gonazalez team for making it all the way through to the final game and placing 2nd at the 2010 Challenge Cup!!

Saturday started with 7 teams playing for Quarter-final berths and 1 boys team already there.  It was warm it was sunny and we had little to no wind, at the end of the day 3 teams G11-Alexander, G13-Joffs, & B13-Ceniceros were still standing and played on Sunday along with B11-Sagare who had already qualified.

What a day, wind gusts that you could barely stand up in, cold and by the afternoon rainy, but our SCS boys and girls stood up to the test and the following teams are off to the Semi-finals on April 10th and 11th at Starfire Complex!

Congratualtions to the players and coaching staff of the  B13-CENICEROS - G11-ALEXANDER - G13-JOFFS teams!!

The Parker Youth and Sports Foundation has provided a generous grant to help the youth in the Yakima Valley stay physically active through the sport of soccer. This $5000 will help multiple children in the area through various programs. Over 20 6-11 year old players received registration help to play in the Yakima Youth Soccer Recreational League. The a Sun City Striker coaches and players will provide a Friday Night Academy for 8-11 year olds. Finally, there were 6 full scholarships to Sun City Striker players who will in turn help promote activity through sport and improving parks in the Yakima Valley.

The players who received the full scholarship and will be promoting athletics and parks are:

The BU16 Dauer team won 2 - 0 in Snohomish on Sunday 2/7 against Snohomish United Black.  With the win the team moves onto the elimination round of the Washington State Championships and will play the #2 team out of Bracket E on 2/21.
